“Music is life”
The Little Flower School Kalwari is a unique school in the field of character formation of the young minds. This school has helped many hungry minds to equip themselves with lot of knowledge and skill in different areas of life through various curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Music Club is one of the outcomes of the extra-curricular activities of the school.
DESCRIPTION OF EMBLEM
Music is a chain of tune, lyrics and rhythm which helps to express one’s feelings. The Emblem of the Music Club fully expresses the reason and characteristics of its existence. The emblem is in the form of a flying bird and the name of the school LFS written on it to mean that the School through this club helps its students to fly high in the field of music. It also points out that this club is entirely the part and parcels of the co-curricular activities of the school and it has no separate entity other than the school.
The emblem consists of the seven colours. ‘Seven’ is a perfect number according to different ideologies. In our context these 7 colours indicates Saptha Swaras [Sa’,’ Re’, ‘Ga’, Ma’, Pa’,’ Dha’, Ni]. The ‘Sapta swaras’ namely Shadja, Rishabha, Gandhara, Madhyama, Dhaivata, and Nishatam are the heart of the Indian music.
The Cross‘†’ is in the upper part of the emblem shows victory through struggles as the cross is the sign of suffering, love and victory; at the beginning of learning music, much pain is needed but at last it will become fruitful. The cross also indicates the ‘Catholic Christian Minority’ nature of the institution.
The wings of the flying bird have its feathers in four colours; represent the four houses of LFS namely, Blue, Green, Yellow and Red. Our students get sufficient training in Club activities and their efficiency is challenged and measured in different houses. The flying bird with the name of the school in its short form tells that through the hard work and efforts students help others and themselves to uplift the name of LFS above the Clouds. The emblem is in seven colours to show the seven tunes of music as ‘Sa’,’ Re’, ‘Ga’, Ma’, Pa’,’ Dha’, Ni. In music system these seven swaras show the colours of life which is spread in one’s heart and mind as it is the expression of feelings of love, happiness, sadness and many more feelings. The emblem as a whole looks like a ‘diya’ - light to express wisdom and knowledge, that is to say music is a divine gift and the knowledge through human effort and it has the power to dispel darkness. The emblem is the symbol of peace and concentration of mind. Once a person listens to the music the mind will be raised to a higher spiritual realm to get immersed in its melodious tunes and rhythmic sound.
